Hi.

Welcome to my blog where I document our adventures and travels. Hope you have a nice stay!

Copenhagen

Copenhagen

Kobenhavn.  Ai. What can I say?  I have a thing for Scandinavia. Give me a Scandi city any day above France or Italy.  There is just something magical about this place, and the lifestyle lived by its residents.  "Hygge" as they call it. I love everything about it.

Our time in Copenhagen was a dream.  A very cold, freezing to death kind of dream. But I didn't care. We spend most of our time inside some of the best restaurants that I've ever been in in my entire life! Even my Dad, yes my farmer Dad from the Free State, said to me "Ek hoop jyt 'n bespreking gemaak by Rene Redzepi se restaurant".  (Side note - my Dad is cooler than yours.)  But unfortunately the once nr. 1 restaurant in the world, Noma, was fully booked (duh-huh).  But that didn't stop us from getting a bit of Rene - so we went to what some refer to as the "new Noma" - 108. Mind blowing.  For me this was not fine dining in the normal sense of the word, it was something else.  Ok I can talk about the food for ages, but if you go I would also recommend Barr, also part of the Rene Redzepi chain and Fiskebar in the Meatpacking district, some pictures below.

JK and I also did something in Copenhagen that we don't normally do when we travel - and that is shopping.  We just couldn't help ourselves in the incredible Scandi interior design stores.

Below you will also see pictures of the beautiful Nyvahn, Rosenberg Castle, Botanisk Have and the Tivoli Gardens. I couldn't get enough pictures of Nyvahn and if it wasn't for the cold I would have probably still been there trying to get each and every colourful building from every side.
