Scottish Highlands

Words cannot describe the beauty that is the Scottish Highlands! We drove the highlands from South to North and back South again down the middle.  Initially we wanted to do the North Coast 500 route, but time would just not allow us this as we wanted to be in the Isle of Skye for our Anniversary night.  We covered Loch Lomond, Fort William, Loch Ness, Inverness, John O'Groats, Duncansby Stacks, Castle Sinclair, Castle of Mey, Loch Naver, Ullapool, Ilse of Skye.  And a very exciting ferry crossing from the Ilse of Skye on our way back to Glasgow. 

Talking about the Isle of Skye, there are no photos from our time at Kinloch Lodge here, simply because it was too incredible to even think about reaching for a camera. Here we had an incredible dinner at the chef's table at Marcello Tully's Michelin star restaurant. It was a beautiful old house with the most incredible decor. Made me think so much about my grandmother's home. The next day I got to experience one of the most amazing things ever - a one on one cooking class with Marcello himself! Covering pastries, macaroons, scones, bread and other little delights! I think I have found that thing that I have been looking for...

Back to the Highlands, most of these photos were taken from the car while we were driving, but they will simply never describe what we really saw! It is just too incredible! The snowy mountain tops, cute little towns, the coast lines, the old castles, and the surprise when you come around a corner and there is the most incredible beach in front of you! All I can say is thanks JK for allowing us to do this in an Audi TT - definitely made the drive so much more comfortable.

Lastly, thanks to Johnny, for being the best travel partner ever. You are the only person with who I would want to share this. Being married to you has been the biggest adventure ever. And if this is only the beginning, then I cannot wait for what is to come!
