Tropfest Short Film Festival
The Tropfest Short Film Festival is one of the highlights of our summer. Our liking for Tropfest started about a year ago in Manhattan's Bryant Park and was mainly caused by numerous bottles of red and white wine delivered to us by Katryn's wine-delivery guy on his bike. This year it was hosted in the gigantic absolutely beautiful Prospect Park in Brooklyn. Prospect Park almost felt like something in the Amazon very far away from New York and together with 30,000 other people we enjoyed the sun, music and obviously the 7 minute short films. The film festival was hosted by Liev Schrieber and Malcolm Gladwell was amongst the judges. Below you will also see photos of Liev and his girlfriend, Naomi Watts. Yes, in my previous life I was part of the Paparazzi. Our huge crowd of South Africans made sure to put up a large noise as one of the South African finalist films made by Christo Erasmus from Pretoria was on.
Once again it was a very, very successful NYC summer day! So many awesome memories.
