Wine, the Western Cape and Wonderful Family and Friends
I was blessed enough to spend the past weekend in the Western Cape with very special family and friends. Although the weekend was very short and jam-packed, I couldn't hide away from the comforting feeling that overwhelmed me as a result of the beautiful surroundings of the Stellenbosch and Franschhoek winelands in the Western Cape of South Africa. Together we enjoyed the Root 44 food market, wine tasting, fine dining, sunset gazing and loads of stories and laughing. Every moment was beyond perfect and my obsession with delicious and beautiful food was completely satisfied. I noted a few obvious things this weekend: firstly, that I definitely come from one of the most beautiful countries in the World. Secondly, that the passion that I've developed for food and arts in New York forms part of an adventure that has only just begun. And lastly, that family is everything and so much more. I now know that if I should loose everything in my life, I will have only one thing left, and that is my family. My everything.
Thank you to you beautiful Western Cape, thank you for giving me a little bit of my soul back!
