At the Foothills of the Catskills
This past weekend we escaped the noise of ambulances and taxi horns in the City and escaped to America's trout world - a small town named Roscoe upstate New York. There on the foothills of the Catskills the boys tried to get lucky while fly fishing, while the girls just sad underneath the tall trees talking - like we girls do.
As a girl from a farm this was the perfect breath of fresh air. Fresh extremely cold air. The sad part of it was the realization that summer was now officially over. This weekend also took me back to all the amazing weekends in Dullstroom I shared with my friends back in South Africa. I missed you guys!
I'm going to leave this post with a quote from The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank:
“The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quite alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature. As longs as this exists, and it certainly always will, I know that then there will always be comfort for every sorrow, whatever the circumstances may be. And I firmly believe that nature brings solace in all troubles.”
